About CMT & Trust
Is CMT a hospital or healthcare provider?
No. CMT is not a hospital, nor are we doctors. We are medical travel service coordinators. We are familiar with Guangzhou’s top hospitals, understand the medical process, and help bridge language and cultural gaps so you can connect smoothly with China’s premium medical resources.
All medical decisions are made by the attending physicians and the hospital where you receive care, based on your individual condition.
Who makes medical decisions?
Your attending physicians and the hospital make all medical decisions. CMT coordinates logistics and communication — we do not diagnose, prescribe, or interfere with clinical judgment.
Will my medical information remain confidential?
Yes. We strictly adhere to our privacy protection commitment. Your personal information and medical records are used only for hospital appointments and itinerary coordination. They will not be shared with any third party unless you give explicit consent. Hospital medical records are also protected by Chinese law and the hospital’s own privacy policies.
How do you select hospitals and specialists?
We match you with specialists and top-tier hospitals in Guangzhou based on your needs, medical history, and preferred timing. Our team works with hospitals that have established international pathways, bilingual support capacity, and recognised clinical strengths in areas such as health screening, dentistry, and ophthalmology.
Fees & Payment
How do medical costs in China compare with Europe and North America?
In many cases, care at China’s leading hospitals is significantly more affordable than equivalent services in Europe or the US. A 2024 study by the International Federation of Health Plans found that the average hospital stay in the US costs roughly 5.5 times more than in China. The gap is often wider for outpatient procedures.
For example, an executive health screening that may cost USD 2,000–6,000 in the US can often be completed at a top-tier Chinese hospital for roughly RMB 5,000–10,000 (USD 700–1,400). Dental and ophthalmic procedures frequently offer similar savings — often 50% to 70% less than Western prices, even after including travel costs.
Many Chinese top-tier hospitals hold JCI accreditation. Lower cost does not automatically mean lower quality — it often reflects a more efficient system and lower operating costs.
Prices are for reference only. Actual costs vary by hospital, region, and individual circumstances.
What is included in the package price?
Each package includes the items detailed on the package page. Generally, this covers:
- Medical service fees
- Hospital VIP service fees
- Bilingual medical report fees
- Designated accommodation
- In-itinerary transportation
- Selected meals
- Sightseeing entrance tickets
Not included: international airfare, visa fees, personal expenses, insurance, and optional add-on services outside the package.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 40% deposit is required after confirming your itinerary to reserve your VIP hospital slot and hotel accommodation. The remaining balance must be settled 14 days prior to your departure.
What are the cancellation and refund terms?
Detailed cancellation terms will be provided in writing at the time of booking. General refund rules are as follows:
- More than 14 days before departure: full deposit refund
- Within 14 days of departure: all pre-paid third-party costs will be withheld, plus a 10% administrative fee; any remaining balance will be refunded
Which payment methods are accepted?
All payments are made via wire transfer to our designated bank account. Payment instructions are provided after your itinerary is confirmed.

How does the booking process work?
The process is straightforward:
- Tell us your needs, preferred dates, and any medical background we should know.
- We propose a tailored itinerary with hospital options and logistics.
- After confirmation, you pay the deposit to reserve hospital and hotel arrangements.
- Before departure, we finalise schedules and travel details; on arrival, we provide bilingual coordination throughout your journey.
What medical documents should I provide?
To help us match the right specialists and prepare hospital appointments, please share:
- A clear copy of your passport bio page
- Relevant prior medical reports, imaging, or summaries (English preferred when available)
- A short description of your goals, symptoms, or the service you are seeking
- Preferred travel dates and any accessibility or dietary needs

Will I have bilingual assistance?
Yes. We provide bilingual coordination services (Chinese/English) throughout your journey — from arrival and hospital visits to examinations and report interpretation. Hospitals we work with can also provide medical reports and key documents in English, so you do not need to navigate the language barrier alone.
Are medical standards in China comparable to those in Europe and North America?
Many top-tier Chinese hospitals hold JCI accreditation and meet internationally recognised quality and safety standards. In the 2025 NCS Global Hospital Index, seven Chinese hospitals ranked among the global top 20, and 42 made the global top 100. In fields such as dentistry, ophthalmology, and health checkups, China’s leading hospitals are equipped with world-class technology and clinical expertise.
Can a family member travel with me?
Yes. Family members are welcome to travel with you. We can help arrange additional accommodation and logistics so your companion can stay close throughout the journey. Let us know your needs when you enquire.
What happens if my treatment plan changes?
Clinical plans may be adjusted by your attending physicians after examination. When that happens, we stay in our coordination role: we help you understand the updated schedule, re-arrange appointments, transport, and lodging where needed, and keep communication clear in English and Chinese.
Medical decisions remain with your doctors and the hospital. Any cost or timing impact will be explained before you proceed.
Travel to Guangzhou
Do I need a visa?
It depends on your nationality and length of stay. Visa-free or simplified entry pathways now cover many countries for short visits, but rules change and exemptions vary. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country before booking.
If you share your passport nationality and intended dates, we can help you understand the practical timeline for travel planning. Visa application fees are not included in package prices.
When is the best time to visit Guangzhou?
October to December is generally the most comfortable season — cooler weather with lower rainfall, ideal for outdoor activity and city travel. Mid-October to late November is especially pleasant.
Spring (April–May) is a good alternative, though rainfall is more frequent. Overall, October through April usually offers the most comfortable visiting conditions, with temperatures often between 15°C and 25°C.
How should I prepare for Guangzhou’s climate?
Guangzhou has a subtropical monsoon climate — warm and humid for much of the year.
- Summer (June–August): Hot and muggy, highs around 33–35°C, with frequent rain.
- Winter (December–February): Mild but damp; average around 14°C — a sweater or light jacket is usually enough, though it can feel cooler.
- Spring & Autumn: Mild temperatures; spring is damper, autumn is generally more comfortable.
Year-round essentials: a foldable sun/rain umbrella, comfortable walking shoes, common over-the-counter medicines, and a power adapter if needed.
Will you arrange airport pickup and accommodation?
Yes — designated accommodation and in-itinerary transportation are included in our packages, including airport transfers arranged around your arrival and departure schedule. Exact hotel and transfer details are confirmed with your itinerary.
How does the Canton Fair affect hotel availability?
The China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) hosts two sessions each year in Guangzhou. During fair phases, hotel prices rise sharply, rooms become scarce, and city traffic is heavier.

What kind of city is Guangzhou?
Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong Province and a core hub of the Greater Bay Area. With over 2,000 years of history, it is one of the starting points of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. The city blends historical landmarks with modern icons, and is known as the “City of Gastronomy” for its world-famous Cantonese cuisine. As South China’s largest commercial hub, it also hosts numerous wholesale markets and the biannual Canton Fair.
